Common questions about Kindle Trucking School’s CDL Class A, Class B, Refresher, Restriction Removal, and Diesel Technician programs. Can’t find your question? Call us at 346-444-3300 or book a campus tour.
What CDL programs does Kindle Trucking School offer?
We offer five programs at our Houston campus: CDL Class A (tractor-trailer), CDL Class B (straight trucks, buses, dump trucks), CDL Refresher, Restriction Removal, and Diesel Technician training. Each program has its own structure and pacing — the campus tour is the clearest way to see which one fits your goals.
How much does CDL training cost at Kindle Trucking School?
We cover tuition, financing, scholarships, and payment plans in detail during the campus tour so you get accurate numbers for your specific program and situation. Call 346-444-3300 or book a tour at kindletruckingschool.com to schedule.
Does Kindle Trucking School accept the GI Bill?
Yes — we’re a VA.gov-approved CDL school listed in the official GI Bill Comparison Tool. Veterans and eligible dependents can apply their benefits toward our programs. Bring your benefit details to your campus tour and we’ll map out how the GI Bill applies to your program.
Do you offer financing for CDL training?
Yes. We partner with Climb Credit (climbcredit.com/apply/kindletruckingschool), accept the GI Bill, offer internal payment plans, and have scholarships for qualifying students. Specific options depend on your program — we walk through them in person during the tour.
Where is Kindle Trucking School located in Houston?
We’re at 16221 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77090 — on the north side of Houston near FM 1960 and East Richey Road, easy to reach from I-45. Drop by for a scheduled campus tour to see the trucks, range, and classrooms.
How long does CDL Class A training take?
Program length depends on whether you train full-time or part-time and how quickly you complete behind-the-wheel hours. Class hours run Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, which gives flexibility for most schedules. We map out a realistic timeline for your situation during the campus tour.
Do I need a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) before I start?
A valid U.S. driver’s license is required to enroll, and a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) is needed before behind-the-wheel training begins. If you don’t have your CLP yet, we help you prepare for the written exam as part of getting started.
What are your class hours and schedule?
Class hours at our Houston campus are Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. We’re closed Sundays. We’ll go over the full weekly schedule and how it fits your situation during your campus tour.
Is your training ELDT compliant?
Yes. Kindle Trucking School is an ELDT-approved provider — our curriculum meets the FMCSA Entry-Level Driver Training standards effective February 2022. Beyond ELDT, we’re Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) Approved, WIOA Approved, VA.gov GI Bill Approved (listed in the GI Bill Comparison Tool), listed in the U.S. Department of Labor’s CareerOneStop directory, BBB A+ Accredited (since June 2025), and a member of the Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA).
Do you help graduates with the job search after CDL training?
Houston has an active commercial-driving job market, and our team is glad to talk through what hiring typically looks like once you have your CDL in hand. We’re not a placement agency, but we share what we know about the local market and connect graduates with the resources that work. Come tour the campus and we’ll cover this in more detail.
What happens during a campus tour at Kindle Trucking School?
The campus tour is also your enrollment touchpoint — Texas regulation requires in-person enrollment, so the tour is where you see the trucks, meet the team, review exact tuition for your program, and talk through financing or GI Bill options.
Can I tour the school on a Saturday?
Yes — our office is open Saturday 9:00 AM–1:00 PM for tours and enrollment conversations. Saturday slots fill up, so booking ahead helps. If Saturday doesn’t work, we have weekday tour times available too. Book at kindletruckingschool.com or call 346-444-3300.
